Both dentists and orthodontists work with mouths and teeth on a daily basis. They both attend many years of schooling and have a passion for oral health. So what exactly is the difference between a dentist and orthodontist?<\/p>\n

Specialty Training: Difference Between a Dentist and Orthodontist<\/h2>\n

One thing to clear up right off the bat: Orthodontists are actually dentists<\/em> who have received specialty orthodontic training. An orthodontist is always a dentist, but a dentist is not always an orthodontist. Approximately 10% of dentists are licensed orthodontists. Services<\/strong><\/td>\nTeeth cleaning, cosmetic services (whitening, reshaping, applying veneers, etc.), restorative services (dental implants, dentures, tooth repair, etc.), and more<\/td>\nTraditional metal braces, Invisalign, lingual braces, ceramic braces, and more<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
